Export Mollie to DATEVPayments, settlements & fees – booked automatically instead of pieced together by hand
Mollie is strong at European payment methods like iDEAL, SEPA and cards – but at month-end it leaves you on your own. finHero reads your Mollie payments, refunds, chargebacks and settlements directly via the Mollie API and turns them into an import-ready booking batch for DATEV, BMD, bexio or Abacus.
The problem
Mollie settlements are not a booking batch
Mollie pays you bundled settlements to your bank account – a single amount netting dozens of payments, refunds and fees. Your bank statement then just reads „Mollie Payments B.V. 1.480,00 €“. What's inside it you have to reconstruct by hand, month after month.
Mollie issues no invoices with German VAT, and the CSV export is mapped to no German, Austrian or Swiss chart of accounts. So you split fees manually, allocate revenue and hope your tax advisor doesn't send the batch back.
Bundled payouts
A settlement bundles many transactions – bank reconciliation turns into detective work.
Fees by hand
Mollie fees appear only in the settlement details, not as a clean posting.
No VAT receipts
Without a VAT breakdown, your firm lacks the basis for correct posting.
| Amount € | Account | Contra account | Booking text |

| 120,00 | 1812 | 20000 | Payment · tr_8f2…21 |

How finHero books Mollie
Every Mollie transaction – cleanly booked
Payments, refunds & chargebacks
Every paid transaction is booked as an incoming payment; refunds as reversals, chargebacks as returned debits – each with the Mollie ID (tr_…) as reference.
Real fees from the settlement
finHero reads the actual fees from the settlement cost lines and books them separately to your fee account – exact, not estimated.
Payouts cleanly mapped
Paid-out settlements are booked as a payout to the money transit account – your bank reconciliation clears in minutes.
Mollie provides no VAT information per transaction. finHero therefore books revenue to your default revenue account, which you set freely (e.g. 4400). If you leave it empty, finHero instead collects them on the clearing account, so your firm assigns the correct VAT once (e.g. domestic, EU-OSS, third country).

Frequently asked questions
Mollie & accounting – briefly explained
Can you export Mollie directly to DATEV, BMD, bexio or Abacus?+
No, Mollie offers no native accounting export. Mollie only provides settlements and raw CSV data. finHero handles the mapping to accounts, fees and receipts and produces the import-ready booking batch – for DATEV (EXTF), BMD (Austria), bexio and Abacus (Switzerland).
How are Mollie fees booked?+
finHero reads the real fees from the cost lines of the respective settlement and books them separately to your fee account (e.g. 6855 SKR04). Nothing is estimated.
How does payout reconciliation work?+
Every paid-out settlement is booked as a payout to your money transit account. The individual payments run through the Mollie balance account – so the balance matches your bank statement.
What about VAT?+
Since Mollie provides no VAT data per transaction, finHero books revenue to a default revenue account you define (e.g. 4400). If you set none, finHero collects it on the clearing account – your firm then assigns the correct tax (domestic, EU-OSS, third country) once.
Do I need a live or test key?+
For real exports you store your Mollie live API key (starts with live_). finHero only needs read access to your payments and settlements.
